April 2017:
We have ordered a gazebo and expect it to arrive any time! It will be constructed at the north end of the garden. We’ll be building a brickwork patio to put the gazebo on, as well as a brickwork walkway to the sidewalk. We are also planning to order more cedar lumber to build a few more raised beds.
May 2016:
30 cedar beds have been built, in two sizes: 8×4, and 4×4. Several 4×4 plots are extra tall to accommodate gardeners who need the extra height.
Temporary water barrels have been put in place until the water line is installed (in progress).
Some temporary bag gardens from last year have been placed around the northern edge of the garden as extra space for this year. Most of the cedar plots have been assigned already, but bag gardens are still available for those who want to join.

Lumber for raised cedar beds is on its way. We are waiting for it to arrive, and then bed building will begin.
March 2016:
Our garden area has been staked out and bed placement marked.

Our temporary garden has been installed! We have 30 plots roughly 3×3 installed in front of the community hall, and behind it inside the rink. We’re ready to plant! Many plots are spoken for but there are still some available. Contact yellowbirdgarden@gmail.com to sign up.
March 2015:
Our project request has been officially submitted to the city with an outline of what we hope to achieve. The timeline may be slow, so we are making plans to have a “temporary” garden for this year only, so we can still grow things and have fun together while the process of installing the permanent garden continues.
