Ages U4 to U7 outdoor soccer teams are organized through community leagues, but registration happens centrally through Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) Southwest. Before registering for soccer, you will need a current family community league membership. Please see our membership page [internal link] for steps on how to do this. Registration for outdoor soccer generally opens in February with the season starting in May (subject to weather.) Please check the EMSA website [link: www.emsasouthwest.com] regularly for updates on registration dates and deadlines. U5 teams are mixed girls and boys, and practice once per week. U7 are divided into girls and boys teams, and practice twice per week. The EMSA community soccer program is based on the Canada Soccer Association’s Long Term Player Development Model.
